Former Pak coach Mohsin Khan slams Whatmore's appointment as 'disaster' for team

Former Pakistan coach Mohsin Khan has criticised the appointment of Dav Whatmore as the current head-coach for the team, saying that Whatmore's appointment has been a disaster for the squad following a disappointing performance in South Africa.

Khan, who was replaced by Whatmore over a year ago, however said that, instead of Whatmore, he blamed the team management who brought him into Pakistan cricket, adding that they are responsible for disturbing a team that was progressing well, reports.
Dismissing accusations of personal interest and a case of 'sour grapes', Khan said that the team has achieved nothing by bringing in a foreign coach, adding that both he and Waqar Younis had done a good job with the team and even improved them from before.
Khan further said that he had further improved the team after their stint with Younis, adding that the team had created history by whitewashing England, without any controversies during his tenure.
Stating that he knew the people responsible for this fiasco, Khan warned the chairman of the selection committee to be very careful, adding that the chairman has people around him who have personal interests and benefits.
Khan further said that although Pakistan's tour was a difficult one for a side that has historically struggled in South Africa, he felt that the team was talented enough to succeed, only there was a lack of belief in their ability to defeat the home side. (ANI)
