Javed Miandad cancels India visit: TV reports

Following the controversy over him being granted a visa, former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad, has reportedly cancelled plans to visit India to see the final one-day match with Pakistan in New Delhi.

Several politicians had opposed Miandad being granted a visa by the authorities, saying that it will hurt the sentiments of the people of the country, as he has family ties with Dawood Ibrahim, India's most wanted terrorist. Miandad was expected to arrive in India on January 5 to watch the third and final ODI between the two Asian neighbours neighbours in New Delhi the next day. Miandad, who is now a senior Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official,
was to be honoured during that match. (ANI)
